Welcome. My name is Nathaniel Soares. I'm a computer scientist and an economist it the George Washington University. I have a deep-seeded lust for knowledge nothing but loathing for boredom.
My primary fields of study are, of course, Computer Science and Economics. Most people would tell you that I'm a programmer first and an economist second. I spend a lot of time writing code, learning languages, and reading up on general abstract nonsense — but don't let my specializations fool you.
I thought long and hard before deciding to become a computer scientist instead of a mechanical engineer, a physicist, or a mathematician. My second major was originally political science, though I was considering philosophy. I dabble in the liberal arts as often as possible, in areas such as medieval drama to art history. I have spent a lot of time as a theater technician, and my hobbies range from yoga to cooking to parkour.
If you're an employer, don't hesitate to check out my resumé. If you're a reader, you're probably already reading my weblog.
I set this website up for two reasons: I wanted to have somewhere to write down my thoughts, and I wanted to learn how to make a dynamic website from scratch. Unfortunately, I log my thoughts less than I should.
Don't think of this website as my messages to the world. Think of it, rather, as my messages to myself, written to help me clarify my thoughts. I hope you find my writing relevant and meaningful, but I don't suggest you read NateSoares.com like a blog. If you'd like updates, though, I do provide an RSS feed.
There's a contact link in the footer of the website. Don't hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, or comments. I'm always up for learning something new.
