Welcome to the new version of my website! I just finished the conversion, and I'll write an entry explaining the new deal and the design decisions, but right now I need to take a break and do things that aren't in front of a computer.
Before I go, though, I just want to say that webfaction is an amazingly good web hosting service. Seriously, those guys are really, really awesome. If you ever need web hosting, check these guys out. Even if you already have web hosting and aren't happy with it, check these guys out. They're the best.
When I started this site, I had no idea what the hell I was doing or how to host a website online. Through their forums and their (awesome) support, I managed to get my website up very easily with no pain. Not only that, but when I was preforming the website switcheroo last night, I was running both the old and new in parallel for a couple of hours, to make sure that the new website worked in the deployment environment. At the same time, I was switching to nginx from apache, and I am far from an nginx expert. Needless to say, I accidentally abused webfaction's memory quite a bit. Did they shut me down or demand payment? No. They were like "hey, what's going on, dude? You're using way too much memory". I told them that I was trying to pull off a little switch, and they were like "oh, ok, that's cool."
These guys are the best. Seriously. They'll help you out with whatever you need, they'll be understanding of extraneous circumstances, and they are awesomely priced. Check these guys out.
